Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers return to the road for a four-game series against the New Orleans Zephyrs starting at 7 p.m. at Zephyr Field. The Dodgers have won three of the last four games and four of the last six.
Last Game: The Dodgers held on for a 5-4 win Thursday against Omaha at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Omaha took the first lead when Travis Snider hit a solo homer in the second inning, but the Dodgers took the lead in the third. Antoan Richardson doubled before Charlie Culberson hit a RBI triple to tie the game, 1-1. Austin Barnes followed with a two-run homer onto the Budwesier Deck in left field to put the Dodgers in front, 3-1. A RBI single by Tony Cruz cut the Dodgers' lead to 3-2 in the sixth. The Dodgers extended their lead in the bottom of the frame. O'Koyea Dickson notched a RBI triple, and Micah Johnson followed with a RBI groundout for a 5-2 lead. Omaha then cut into OKC's lead on back-to-back two-out RBI doubles by Snider and Balbino Fuenmayor in the eighth. There was no drama in the ninth, as Matt West retired the side in order and earned second save of the season. Dodgers starting pitcher Zach Lee (7-5) earned his seventh victory, holding Omaha to two runs and seven hits over 7.0 innings. He did not issue a walk and struck out four. Omaha starting pitcher John Lannan (5-6) went the distance for the Storm Chasers, allowing five runs (three earned) and five hits. He issued one walk and struck out six in the loss.

In his last start June 11 against Nashville, Tepesch allowed two runs and seven hits over five innings, with one walk and five strikeouts in the win...In his first two outings with OKC, Tepesch has allowed three earned runs over 10.0 innings, but opponents are batting .341...He was granted his release by Texas June 4 and signed with the Dodgers as a free agent June 6. He started 11 games for the Round Express earlier this season, going 4-2 with a 4.11 ERA. At the time of his release, he led Round Rock in starts and innings (65.2)...He missed the entire 2015 season due to an elbow issue and eventually underwent surgery in August to correct Thoracic Outlet Syndrome...Tepesch is 9-17 with a 4.56 ERA over 42 games (39 starts) in his Major League career, all with Texas in 2013-14...The Rangers selected the Kansas City, Mo., native in the 14th round of the 2010 draft from the University of Missouri...Tonight marks his second start of the season against New Orleans. Against the Zephyrs: 2016: 2-2 2015: 12-4 All-time: 155-134 At New Orleans: 72-70
This marks OKC's first trip to New Orleans this season...The teams split their most recent series May 2-5 in OKC with New Orleans winning the first two games and the Dodgers taking the final two. Over the four-game set, the Dodgers held the Zephyrs to seven total runs and a .137 batting average, and the pitching staff averaged 11 strikeouts per game...The Dodgers have won six straight games at Zephyr Field and OKC is 12-4 in the bayou over the last two seasons...The Dodgers won the 2015 series, 12-4, and defeated the Zephyrs in 10 of the final 11 meetings. The 12 victories tied OKC's record for most wins accumulated in one season against New Orleans (1999)...OKC has lost just one season series against the Zephyrs since 2006 (6-9 in 2011).
Barnes Burner: Austin Barnes returned to Oklahoma City yesterday after being optioned by the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 14 and had an immediate impact. Barnes cranked his first home run of the season --- a two-run shot in the third inning that put the Dodgers in the lead for good...Barnes has hit safely in each of his last eight games with OKC, batting .382 (13x34) with four multi-hit games...Despite playing in just 38 of the team's 65 games, Barnes leads OKC with 24 walks and has posted a .409 on-base percentage.

Special K: OKC's pitching staff leads the league with 584 strikeouts through 65 games this season. The Dodgers struck out eight Omaha batters Thursday and have recorded fewer than eight strikeouts in a game only twice in June (15 games)...The Dodgers are on pace to notch 1,293 strikeouts this season, which would blow past the team's single-season record of 1,114 set last year.

How the West was Won: Since returning from a brief stint on the DL in late May, reliever Matt West has held opponents scoreless over five appearances, spanning 5.0 IP. For the season, West has not been scored upon in 16 of his 18 outings, while posting a .207 opponent average, 0.86 WHIP, and 7.33 strikeout-to-walk ratio (22 K/3 BB).
Friday Fodder: Brandon Hicks has hit safely in three straight games, going 6-for-13 with two home runs. A hit tonight would tie his longest hitting streak of the season at four games (twice previously; last May 30-June 3)...Since May 19, the Dodgers are 12-15 overall. When allowing fewer than five runs, they are 12-3. When allowing five or more runs, they are 0-12...Thursday's game lasted 2 hours, 10 minutes, marking the Dodgers' shortest nine-inning game of the season.
