OKC Blue Clinches Playoff Spot in Win over Erie

ERIE, PA - The Oklahoma City Blue clinched a trip to the 2015 NBA Development League Playoffs by defeating the Erie BayHawks, 102-95, on Saturday in the Blue's final game of the regular season.

Oklahoma City finished the regular season with a record of 28-22, securing the final wild card spot in the Western Conference. The Blue's first round opponent and game dates will be announced at a later time.

Talib Zanna scored 21 points with 12 rebounds to finish the season with 25 double-doubles. Xavier Alexander scored 21 points of his own on 7-of-10 shooting. Frank Gaines tallied 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals and Semaj Christon added 11 points and eight assists. Richard Solomon contributed nine points and 12 boards off the bench.

The Blue rushed out to a 17-3 lead in the first 3:10 of the game behind eight early points by Gaines. The BayHawks picked up their offensive production and cut the Blue's lead to 31-24 after one quarter. Oklahoma City then outscored Erie 23-19 in the second to lead by 11 at the half.

After Oklahoma City led for the entire third frame, Erie cut the Blue's lead down to 75-74 with 9:37 remaining in the fourth. The Blue slowly pulled away over the next seven minutes to take a double-digit lead and hold off the BayHawks in the final minutes.

Oklahoma City outrebounded the BayHawks 46-37 while shooting 45.3 percent from the field.

Erie (24-26) was led by Drew Crawford with 19 points.
