Oilers to Address Move to ECHL in Wednesday Press Conference
October 13, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release
The Tulsa Oilers are holding a press conference on Wednesday, October 15 at 1:30 p.m. inside the BOK Center to discuss the recent move to the ECHL and what it means for the team, the players, and the fans for the immediate future.
General Manager Taylor Hall, Head Coach Bruce Ramsay, and selected Oilers players will be in attendance to take questions from fans and conduct one-on-one interviews with the media.
Last week, in a historic announcement, the CHL disbanded and its seven member teams, including the Oilers, were accepted into the ECHL. With 28 teams, the ECHL is now the premier "AA" hockey league in North America. The Oilers will compete in the seven-team Central Division in the Western Conference of the ECHL. The top four teams in the Central Division will advance to the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
The Oilers begin their inaugural ECHL season on Friday, October 24, 2014 with a visit to the Allen Americans and play their home opener on Sunday, October 26 at 4:05 p.m. against the Wichita Thunder.
