Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
THIS PAST WEEK:
About the Preseason Series in Wheeling: The Cyclones and Nailers split a pair of tilts at WesBanco Arena, both finished as 5-3 decisions. On Friday, October 10, Wheeling rallied from an early third period deficit to claim victory. Then, on Sunday, October 12, Cincinnati returned the favor as five different Cyclones players found the net. Brian Nugent was the star of the weekend, notching three goals in the two games.
THIS WEEK'S GAME SCHEDULE:
Saturday, October 18 at Toledo, 7:15pm ET
SHOTS FROM THE POINT:
And So It Begins: With a preseason series against Wheeling wrapped up, the Cyclones set their sights on the regular season opener against the Toledo Walleye. A year ago, the 'Clones dominated their I-75 rivals - taking seven of the ten meetings and outscoring them by a combined 41-30 margin. Saturday marks the first time since returning to ECHL play that the teams have met to open a campaign.
Looking for a Strong Start: Cincinnati has opened the season strongly over the past couple of seasons. A win this Saturday would be the third-straight season opening triumph. Last year's club won its first seven games, while in 2012-13, they went unbeaten in regulation through nine contests.
Coors Light Viewing Party: Join us at Game Time Sports Bar and Grill (3613 Harrison Ave, Cheviot, OH 45211) for the first Coors Light Cyclones Viewing Party this Saturday, October 18! Bring your friends and cheer loud as the Cyclones open the 2014-15 season on the road in Toledo! Enjoy great food and drink specials as we celebrate the start of another thrilling year on the ice!
10/25: First Face-Off The 'Clones kick off the home schedule with $1 John Morrell Hot Dogs, Donatos Pizza, and Soda on Saturday, October 25!
