Oilers Start Regular Season
October 11, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Tulsa Oilers News Release
Count 'Em: With two preseason games under their belt, the Tulsa Oilers are now ready for their 19th Central Hockey League season. The Oilers host the Wichita Thunder Friday at 7:35 p.m. at the BOK Center. They travel to Wichita Saturday night at 7:05.
Split 'Em: The Oilers and Thunder played two preseason games against each other, with each team winning on its home ice. Wichita won 7-6 on Friday night, and the Oilers rebounded with an 8-3 win on Saturday.
Twist 'Em: Fans can meet the Oilers tonight (Monday) and visit with coach Bruce Ramsay during the team's first Hockey Happy Hour of the season. This year's Hockey Happy Hour takes place at the Twisted Tilt sports Restaurant at the Jenks Riverwalk. The show takes place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The show is also broadcast live via www.tulsaoilers.com
Trick 'Em: The Oilers had a hat trick in each of their two preseason games as Jack Combs scored three times Friday, and Mike Beausoleil turned the trick on Saturday. Earlier on Saturday the Oilers completed a trade with the Evansville IceMen to acquire Beausoleil in exchange for future considerations.
Join 'Em: This season the CHL welcomes five teams-Bloomington Prairie Thunder, Dayton Gems, Evansville IceMen, Fort Wayne Komets, and Quad City Mallards-from the previous International Hockey League. The CHL has also expanded the schedule from 64 to 66 games. The 33 home games for the Oilers will be their largest slate of home games since moving to the BOK Center in 2008.
Tickets Here: Season tickets for the 2010-11 season are now available by calling the Oilers office at 918-632-PUCK (7825).
