Nashville Predators Assign Forward to Killer Bees
October 11, 2010 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League (CHL) announced on Monday that the Nashville Predators (NHL) have assigned Dan Gendur to the Killer Bees. Gendur, 23, was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks and was traded to the Nashville Predators last week. Gendur, who has already arrived in the Valley, will immediately join the team.
"I have been working on this for a few weeks after Gendur's agent and the Vancouver Canucks called me about him. We felt it was done and then he was traded to Nashville last week. Nashville is looking for Dan to come in and develop. We are honored and excited to have the opportunity." said Bees coach Chris Brooks.
In Gendur's two previous professional seasons the 5'11 winger has made stops with the Manitoba Moose (AHL), Victoria Salmon Kings (ECHL) and Johnstown Chiefs (ECHL). During his stint in Victoria Gendur played under current Rio Grande Valley General Manager Dan Belisle while he was the Vice President of Hockey Operations for the Salmon Kings.
"I'm excited about having Dan join our club. He's a great skater with a heavy shot and Chris and I are confident in his ability to contribute to our squad."
The Killer Bees open their season on Friday October 15. Single game and season tickets are now available, call (956) 843-PUCK (7825) for details. Can't make it to a Bees game? Listen live on KBUC 102.1-FM and streaming live on killerbeehockey.com
