Nice Of You to Visit: The Tulsa Oilers host the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs tonight, in the only visit of the season by the Mudbugs to Tulsa. This is also the final regular season game for Bossier-Shreveport.
Records: Oilers are 28-27-6 with 62 points, in fourth place in the Northwest Division. Bossier-Shreveport is 40-15-8 with 88 points and has clinched first place in the Northeast Division.
Season Series: This is the second meeting of the season between these two teams. Bossier-Shreveport won last Saturday at the CentruryTel Center. The Mudbugs raced to a 3-0 lead, but Henry Kuster scored shorthanded 11 seconds into the second period and Mike Lukajic cut the lead to 3-2. The Mudbugs regained control of the game and went on to win 7-2.
Awards Night: Prior to tonight's game, the Oilers will be presenting their team awards. Honors include the Offensive player of the year, Defensive player of the year, Rookie of the Year, Community Service Award, Fan Favorite, and Most Valuable Player. In addition, the Oilers booster club will be presenting its awards tonight, the Meyers-Reynolds Protector of the Month for March will be presented, and Duane Lewis, the Central Hockey League vice-president of operations will present league honors.
Auction Night: After tonight's game, the Oilers will be holding a live jersey auction of their sandstone color jerseys (the current road jersey). Bidders for the sandstone jerseys will need to register across from the west side novelty stand outside section 228.
Missing In Action: The Oilers will be without Mike Lukajic (hand) and Paxton Schulte (shoulder) for tonight's game.
Next Up: The Oilers have a busy weekend as they play tomorrow night in Memphis at 7:05 p.m. That game can be heard on KMMY FM 97.1 The Oilers will wrap up the regular season on Sunday afternoon at home against the Austin Ice Bats at 2 p.m. That will be kids day with a variety of kids oriented activities beginning at noon. Bossier-Shreveport will play in the playoffs against either the Wichita thunder or the Oklahoma City Blazers in the best of seven conference semi-final.
