Jeff Christian Finishes Second In CHL Most Valuable Player Award Voting

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today the final results from league voting for the league's Most Valuable Player award and Youngstown's Jeff Christian finished second in the voting conducted by the league through ballots of CHL coaches and broadcasters along with select media members around the league.

Amarillo's Derek Hahn took home the honor with his league-leading 110 points on the season (35-75=110). Hahn finished with 30 of a possible 50 votes to win the award.

Christian finished second earning seven votes and heads into the league's final weekend leading the league with 53 goals and ranking second with 100 points. He is coming off a four point night on Wednesday (1-3=4) that helped propel him to the century point mark and helped his team defeat Fort Worth 5-2.

The Burlington, Ontario native also ranks among the league's best with 19 power play goals (second), nine game winning goals (tied for first) and four shorthanded goals (tied for fourth).

The SteelHounds Captain has enjoyed a remarkable season that three times has seen him named the CHL Oakley Player of the Week. He leads the Hounds with 29 multiple point games including 15 multiple goal games. Christian has previously been named a member of the 2005-06 All-CHL Team.

The Hounds are in action tonight and tomorrow night at the Chevy Centre versus the Fort Worth Brahmas in the final two games of the season. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 PM each night.
