Oilers Make The Playoffs

Tulsa-The Tulsa Oilers waited almost as long as they could, but the second season is underway for Tulsa making their first playoff appearance in four years.

The Oilers joined the Central Hockey League's best eight teams with a 5-4 victory over the Oklahoma City Blazers Friday night, thereby eliminating OKC from contention. Tulsa's first playoff games will be against number one overall seed Colorado in a 2-3-2 format this Friday, March 25th and Saturday, March 26th and will then be home for at least two games Wednesday, March 30th at 7:05pm and Friday, April 1st for a 7:35 start. If Necessary, Game 5 will also be in Tulsa, Saturday, April 2nd again at 7:35. Games 6 & 7 will be the following Wednesday and Thursday back in Colorado. All Colorado start times will be 8:05 CST.

Tulsa finished second behind Bossier-Shreveport in the CHL's Northeast Division with 67 points and a 32-25-3 record, making them the final seed to clinch in the Northern Division. In six total games against the Colorado Eagles this season (including two in the preseason) the Oilers are 0-6 against the league's top team although only facing them only once at home this season... a 4-2 loss.

Playoff tickets are available the Oilers offices, Carson Attractions or Drug Mart locations for $12, $14 and $18... there are still tickets available in each category.

Head coach Butch Kaebel and the rest of the Tulsa Oilers will be available this week until late Wednesday night when they leave for Colorado. Tulsa practices will be Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am-noon at the Tulsa Convention Center.
