Cotton Kings to Face Amarillo in Playoffs; Schedule Set

LUBBOCK, TX – Lubbock Cotton Kings General Manager Fred Meseke is pleased to announce that the Southwest Division Champion Lubbock Cotton Kings will be hosting the Amarillo Gorillas for the first two games of the best-of-seven series at Lubbock Municipal Coliseum starting this Thursday night.

Game one is set for Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. and single game tickets as well as group packages are already on sale at the Cotton Kings office on 1309 University (next to the Varsity Bookstore). For more information, fans can call (806) 747-PUCK (7825).

Game two of the series is Friday night at "the Kingdom" with a 7:05 p.m. puck drop and fans are encouraged to come spend Friday night with the Kings. Below is a schedule for the 2-4-1 series.

Game 1 – Thu, 3/24 @ Lubbock
Game 2 – Fri, 3/25 @ Lubbock
Game 3 – Sat, 3/26 @ Amarillo
Game 4 – Tue, 3/29 @ Amarillo
Game 5 – Sat, 4/2 @ Amarillo*
Game 6 – Sun, 4/3 @ Amarillo*
Game 7 – Thu, 4/7 @ Lubbock*

*If Necessary. All games in Lubbock are a 7:05 p.m. faceoff. The April 4 game in Amarillo will start at 6 p.m. while every other game in "The Jungle" will start at 7:11 p.m.

The defending champion Laredo Bucks will host the San Angelo Saints in the other conference semi-final series set to start Friday night. The Kings are playing in the post-season for the first time since spring of 2001 and will be facing Amarillo for the first time in the Ray Miron President's Cup Playoffs. Lubbock was 4-4-2 against the Gorillas during the 2004-05 regular season.
