The Eagles will host Tulsa for games one and two on Friday and Saturday, March 25th and 26th at the Budweiser Events Center. Friday night's game will be televised in Altitude Sports & Entertainment.

2004-05 Colorado Eagles Highlights

Eagles Ink Record Book

Team always comes first and the Eagles as a whole placed themselves in the Central Hockey League record book. The Eagles tenacious defense not only had the lowest goals against average in the league at 2.05, but broke Austin's record of 2.17 set in 2002-03.

The Eagles tied Odessa's 2000-01 record of 10 team shutouts with Tyler Weiman's eight and Paulo Colaiacovo adding the other two shutouts.

In the red hot month of January in which the Eagles did not lose a game in regulation, the Eagles tied another Central Hockey League record of 12 consecutive wins.

Colorado had it's eyes on the penalty kill percentage record all season, but in the 59th game of the season, the shorthanded Eagles penalty kill unit gave up three power play goals. Colorado finished leading the CHL with an 89.3% penalty kill, just 0.1% away from the record set by the Laredo Bucks in 2003-04.

All-Stars

Greg Pankewicz, Kevin Marsh, and Tyler Weiman all played in the 2005 Dodge CHL All-Star Game in which Pankewicz set the record for both goals with five and points with nine.

Most Valuable Pankewicz

Eagles Captain Greg Pankewicz was honored as the CHL's Most Valuable Player as voted on by balloting among CHL coaches, Public Relations & Broadcasting staffs, and selected media members. Pankewicz led the Eagles with 81 points (32-49-81) and finished fourth in the CHL in scoring, but more importantly Pankewicz's leadership both on and off the ice put him above the rest.

Weiman Makes His Mark

Rookie goaltender Tyler Weiman led the CHL for most of the season in nearly all statistical categories for goaltenders. As a result, Weiman was named both the Rookie of the Year and the Most Outstanding Goaltender. He broke the CHL record for save percentage (.9380) narrowly beating San Angelo's Scott Reid's record from last season (.9378). He also broke the CHL record for goals against average at 1.80. Weiman tied three other players for the CHL record for shutouts with eight. In addition, Weiman led the CHL with 33 wins in 2004-05.

Packing the BEC

It's no wonder the Eagles fans were voted #1 in the annual "Best of the Best" poll. The Eagles have sold out 64 consecutive games including playoffs at the Budweiser Events Center. Colorado welcomed 158,670 fans in 30 games this season, and had a total of 335,844 fans in just two seasons.
