FOSTER GETS TWO – On Friday night, the Amarillo Gorillas overcame two deficits and defeated the Mudbugs in a shootout, 4-3 despite two goals from Mudbugs account executive Greg Foster. Foster was signed out of the front office prior to the game and played for the Mudbugs for the first time since 2002. Trailing 3-2, Amarillo tied the game with just 1:45 left in the third period as Kelly Miller fed Ben Gustavson for a two-on-one goal and his second of the period. In the shootout, the Gorillas received goals from Miller and the game-winner from Dan Donnette for the 4-3 shootout victory.

PLAYOFF INTRODUCTION – In a preview of next week's first round playoff series, the Mudbugs battled back against the Wichita Thunder on Saturday night for a 3-2 victory in front of 8,035 fans at the CenturyTel Center. Ryan Fairbarn and Mike Corneau gave the Thunder a 2-0 lead in the first period, but the Mudbugs fought back starting with a power play goal from Craig Minard at 9:13 of the second period, his first goal of the year. In the third period, Chris Brassard scored a shorthanded goal on a two-on-one with Brett Smith and Scott Sheppard scored the game-winner with just 4:47 left in regulation time. The win was the Mudbugs' first in five games against the Thunder.

FORT WORTH GETS LAST WIN – Jimmy Sokol scored two goals including the shootout game-winning goal as the Fort Worth Brahmas defeated the Mudbugs 3-2 in a shootout on Sunday afternoon at the Fort Worth Convention Center. The Mudbugs ended their eighth regular season with a record of 36-17-7 and will now prepare for their first round playoff series against the Wichita Thunder. With the Brahmas down 2-1 in the third, Sokol scored on a five-on-three power play chance and the two teams battled in a 2-2 deadlock. In overtime, Scott Sheppard nearly jammed a puck along the goal line past Larry Sterling, but the two teams went into the shootout with Sokol scoring the game-winning goal.

Dan Wildfong – Finished the season as the Mudbugs' leading scorer with 32 goals (career-high) and 37 assists

Brett Smith – Helped lead the Mudbugs in 16 penalty kills on Saturday (Mudbugs now rank 3rd in CHL penalty killing)

MUDBUGS IN THE COMMUNITY

Tuesday March 22nd – St. Joseph School – The entire Mudbugs team will appear at St. Joseph School in Shreveport from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. to read books to students.

MUDBUGS VS. THUNDER PLAYOFF NOTES – Thunder won four of the five regular season meetings..... Chris Brassard led the Mudbugs in scoring versus Wichita this year with two goals and four assists..... The Mudbugs and Thunder meet in the playoffs for the second straight season after a 4-1 series win for Bossier-Shreveport in the 2004 Northern Conference Finals.

PLAYOFFS BEGIN! – On Thursday, the Mudbugs will host Game 1 of the Northern Conference Semifinals against the Wichita Thunder at 7:05 p.m. at the CenturyTel Center. Game 2 of the best-of-seven series will take place on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. at the CenturyTel Center and fans will receive "Cheer Stix" on both nights.
