*Blazer Battle:* The Tulsa Oilers square off against the Oklahoma City Blazers tonight in the latest renewal of the Turner Turnpike rivalry.
*Records: *Oilers are 15-31-8 with 38 points in fourth place in the Northeast Division.
Oklahoma City is 32-15-7 for 71 points in third place in the Northeast Division.
*Season Series: *This is ninth of 10 meetings between these two teams this season. One game has been decided in overtime and one in a shootout (both won by Oklahoma City). The Oilers are 3-3-2 in the head to head match-up this season, while Oklahoma City sports a 5-3-0 mark. Oklahoma City has won the last three games, the most recent being a 6-0 win in Oklahoma City on January 27^th . It's also been a series of streaks. Oklahoma City won the first two games. The Oilers then reeled off three straight wins, and the Blazers the most recent three contests.
*Recent Action: *The Oilers scored first and last, but New Mexico scored three goals in between to take a 3-2 decision over Tulsa Saturday night. Oklahoma City came out on the right end of a 3-2 score Saturday night, beating Rocky Mountain in Oklahoma City.
*No More Room:* All five playoff teams have been decided in the Northern Conference. Playoff seeding and positioning is still to be determined. The five playoff teams from the North are Colorado, Mississippi, Bossier-Shreveport, Oklahoma City and Rocky Mountain. Only two teams--Odessa, and Texas--have assured themselves of playoff spots in the Southern Conference.
*Top Guns:* Each team has one player in double digit points in the season series. The Oilers leading scorer is Jeff Christian with one goal and 12 assists in the eight games for 13 points. Bill Vandermeer of Oklahoma City has seven goal and five assists for 12 points. Not coincidentally they lead their respective teams in Scoring. Christian with 26 goals and 42 assists for 68 points (tied for third in the league), and Vandermeer has 24 goals and 28 assists for 52 points.
*Next Up: *The Oilers continue a season high six game homestand on Friday, hosting the Mississippi RiverKings at 7:35 p.m. Oklahoma City returns to action Thursday night hosting the Wichita Thunder.
