The Bucks need a win tonight over the Ice Rays, or an Arizona loss to Rio Grande Valley to punch their ticket to the playoffs for the seventh straight season. Laredo failed in their first attempt Saturday to clinch a playoff berth, when they fell at home to Arizona 7-3.

Laredo enters play tonight sitting in the third spot in the Southern Conference playoff race, as they sit 13 points back of Texas in the Southeast Division, and six behind Odessa. The Brahmas are seven points away from winning the Division Championship.

The Bucks fell behind 3-0 on Saturday, as they had their three game winning streak snapped by the Sundogs with a 7-3 loss.

All-Star Rookie Darryl Smith scored two more goals on Saturday, to push his CHL-leading total to 34. Smith, who also leads all rookies in scoring with 63 points (34-29=63), is tied with Odessa's Sebastien Thinel in the goal column.

Brent Cullaton, who is tied for fifth in the CHL in scoring, leads the Bucks with 67 points (17-47=67).

After starting off 6-0-1 against the Ice Rays this season, the Bucks are 1-2 in their last three games against Corpus Christi.

Corpus enters Wednesday's game one-point behind Arizona for the final playoff spot in the Southern Conference. The Ice Rays snapped their three-game winless streak on Saturday with a 4-3 overtime win in Rio.

Chris Richards leads the Ice Rays in scoring with 67 points (26-41=67).

The Bucks will travel to Odessa for a big Southern Conference match-up Friday night, before hosting the Ice Rays again on Sunday afternoon at the LEC.
