Odessa's Sebastien Thinel Named Sher-Wood/Central Hockey League Player of the Month

The Central Hockey League announced today that Sebastien Thinel of the Odessa Jackalopes has been named the Sher-Wood/Central Hockey League Player of the Month for the month of February/2009. Thinel will receive a Sher-Wood/CHL logoed portable DVD player, courtesy of Sher-Wood, to recognize his accomplishment.

Thinel currently leads the CHL in scoring with 83 points (34-49=83) and is tied for the league lead with his 34 goals and 18 power play goals. During the month of February, the St. Jerome, Quebec native registered points in nine of 11 games totaling six goals and 14 assists for 20 points (tied for the most in the CHL during the month). He had six games where he notched multiple points and finished the month with a flurry notching three goals, five assists and a +5 plus/minus rating in the last two games. The Jackalopes clinched the Southwest Division title during the month and are sitting in second place in the Southern Conference with a 33-16-6 record.

Other players receiving consideration for the Sher-Wood/CHL Player of the Month for February include Amarillo's Jake Morissette and Sam Ftorek, Arizona's Chris Bartolone and Dwayne Hay, Bossier-Shreveport's Dale Lupul, Laredo's Darryl Smith, Mississippi's Jeff Nelson and Louis Dumont, New Mexico's Chris Robertson, Rio Grande Valley's Jesse Bennefield, Rocky Mountain's Colt King, Texas' Jason Deitsch, Tulsa's Jeff Christian and Wichita's Joel Hanson.
