Oil Kings Fall 4-3 in Calgary

Calgary, AB - The first place Edmonton Oil Kings fell 4-3 to the Calgary Hitmen in Calgary on Sunday afternoon. Edmonton had a quick turnaround for this road game less than 24 hours after their 3-2 overtime win last night in Edmonton. Calgary native and recently ranked Mitch Moroz led the way for the Oil Kings with a goal and and assist. The 10th of the season for Moroz makes him the ninth Oil Kings player with at least 10 goals this season. Tyler Maxwell and Curtis Lazar each tallied for the Kings as the power play went 1 for 4 while holding the Hitmen to 1 for 3 with the man advantage.

Calgary would out shoot Edmonton 39-27 as Rookie goaltender Tristan Jarry had a solid 35 save performance in the loss. The Oil Kings record goes to 29-11-1-4 on the season as they remain atop the Eastern Conference standings with 63 points.

The Oil Kings next home game is this Wednesday, January 18th as the Oil Kings play host to the Prince George Cougars. This will be a head to head match up between Oil Kings rookie Curtis Lazar and the only player selected before him in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft - Alex Forsberg. This will also be another K97 Weiner Wednesday at Rexall Place with $2 hot dogs all night long! Puck Drop is set for 7PM MST at Rexall Place. All games this season will be broadcast live on the TEAM 1260 and streamed live at WHL.ca
