Oil Kings Acquire Defenceman Jacob Hoffrogge from Everett

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings have acquired 2003-born defenceman Jacob Hoffrogge (pronounced: hoff-RAWG-ee) from the Everett Silvertips in exchange for a 2025 seventh-round draft pick, the team announced today.

Hoffrogge, 19, is in his third season in the WHL after originally being drafted by the Brandon Wheat Kings in the second round, 41st overall, of the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft.

"The Edmonton Oil Kings are excited to acquire Jacob Hoffrogge," said Oil Kings President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Kirt Hill. "Jacob will bring a veteran presence to our young defensive core of players.

"He is a hard-working, two-way defenceman who plays a responsible style. We look forward to Jacob joining our team and being in the lineup Tuesday evening."

The Saskatoon, SK product spent the previous two seasons with the Wheat Kings before being acquired by the Silvertips this past summer. In 90 career WHL games, he has amassed 13 points (2G, 11A), 38 penalty minutes and a -22 plus/minus rating.

In 23 games this season, he has four points (2G, 2A), 20 penalty minutes and a -6 plus/minus rating.

The Edmonton Oil Kings next home game is tomorrow night, Tuesday, January 10 when they play host to the Moose Jaw Warriors at 7:00 P.M.
