KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans general manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has acquired 2003-born defenseman Ethan Peters from the Edmonton Oil Kings in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft.

Peters, from Moose Jaw, Sask., served as an alternate captain for the Oil Kings this season, his third year in the Western Hockey League. He has spent his entire WHL career with Edmonton, appearing in 119 career games and recording 28 points (4-24-28). Peters was named the WHL's Scholastic Player of the Year in 2020-21.

"Ethan is a veteran defenseman with Memorial Cup experience," said Tory. "He will be a valuable addition to our Club for the second half of the season."

Peters was a member of the Oil Kings 2022 WHL Championship team, skating in 14 of their 19 playoff games.

He is expected to join the Americans this week and make his debut in Everett on Saturday.
