
Hurricanes to Partner with Lethbridge Police Services for Special Game Night

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club are proud to announce they have partnered with the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) to hold a special game night on Saturday, January 14th when t he 'Canes welcome the Red Deer Rebels to the ENMAX Centre.
The Hurricanes and LPS will hold a full night of fun and education which will be highlighted by special police themed jerseys that the 'Canes will wear during the game. Following the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off with proceeds being divided between the Lethbridge Food Bank, Interfaith Food Bank and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lethbridge.
"We're really excited to partner with the Lethbridge Police Service for this special game night," said Hurricanes General Manager of Business Operations, Terry Huisman . "We think this will be a really fun night and to be able to help with the education of what the LPS does and what they provide for our community will be a really important part of the night."
Lethbridge Police Service Night will also feature a variety of police vehicles and uniformed personnel in attendance throughout the evening to showcase LPS and give ticket holders an opportunity to get to know the people behind the badge. The LPS will also focus on recruitment while providing insight on all of the different departments within the LPS.
"We're thrilled to partner with the Lethbridge Hurricanes for this great community event," said Chief Shahin Mehdizadeh. "We're looking forward to getting out and meeting with our citizens, cheering for the Hurricanes and providing a glimpse of what policing is like for anyone considering a career in law enforcement."
During intermission, members of the K9 Unit will provide an exciting dog demo with Hurricanes General Manager Peter Anholt partaking in a dog bite exercise. There will also be a photo booth set up where members of the public can try on police gear and take photos. In addition, there will be an opportunity to explore various police vehicles that will be located out front of the ENMAX Centre.
