Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits (26-23) stranded eight men on base and went 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position in a 6-1 loss to the Huntsville Stars (33-17) Sunday night at Riverwalk Stadium. With the win, the Stars took the series.

Montgomery could never get anything going offensively. After stranding a runner on base in the first and second innings, Willie Argo and Ryan Brett started the third inning off with back-to-back singles. Andy Moye retired the next three batters to leave the Biscuits scoreless.

D'Vontrey Richardson crushed a 1-1 pitch from Michael Colla (1-6) over the left field wall in the first inning to give the Stars a 1-0 lead. Huntsville added a run in the second inning when Weisenburger scored by stealing home on a first and third play.

The Biscuits scored their only run of the game with a solo home run from Jeremy Moore in the fourth inning. The home run was Moore's third of the year. Montgomery has now homered in eight-straight games.

The Stars added two runs in the fifth. A two-run single from Jason Rogers in the seventh brought his RBI-total to three on the night and gave the Stars a 6-1 lead.

Tommy Toledo (1-0) picked up the win out of the bullpen by holding the Biscuits scoreless for three innings.

The Biscuits will open up a six-game series with the Jacksonville Suns tomorrow afternoon on Memorial Day from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The Biscuits have not yet announced their starter. RH Jose Urena will start for the Suns.
