Off The Hook: Steelheads Update

November 9, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release

BOISE, Idaho ¾ The Idaho Steelheads (4-4-1-1) will look to improve upon its 1-2-0-1 home record this week as the team hosts the Pacific Division's first place Fresno Falcons (6-3-0) to Qwest Arena for two games, Tuesday and Wednesday. The Steelheads are Vegas-bound on Thursday for games at Orleans Arena Friday and Saturday.

VETERANS HONORED TUESDAY

The Steelheads will honor veterans who have served in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars at Tuesday's game by hosting 200 service personnel and families. A military color guard will present the flag and Marine Captain Brian Stephenson and Gunnery Sergeant Tim Dennison, who both served in Iraq, will drop the ceremonial first puck. Sgt. Rosalie Bedke will sing the National Anthem.

HOME-(NOT-S0)-SWEET-HOME

After dropping two of three games to the Alaska Aces on home ice last week, and losing its only other home game, the season-opener, to Utah in a shootout, Idaho has only a .375 home win percentage. The team has recorded only 3 of its 10 points in the usually friendly confines of Qwest Arena and scored only 6 of its 21 goals there.
