OF Daniel Palka recalled by the Chicago White Sox

OF Daniel Palka was recalled by the Chicago White Sox today to take the place of OF AvisaÃ-l GarcÃ-a, who was placed on Chicago's 10-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring. Palka becomes the fifth Knights player promoted to the majors already this season (RHP Chris Volstad, RHP Bruce RondÏn, RHP Gregory Infante, and RHP Chris Beck are the others). For the season, Palka hit .286 (18-for-63) with three home runs and seven RBIs in 17 games with the Knights. The Greenville, SC native is currently tied for the International League lead in games played (17), and home runs (3). He was claimed by the Chicago White Sox off waivers from the Minnesota Twins on November 4, 2017... OF Ryan Brett was promoted from Double-A Birmingham to take Palka's place on Charlotte's active roster. In 10 games this season with the Barons, Brett hit .241 (7-for-29) with one double and one RBI.
