(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced Friday that Cuban outfielder Adonis Garcia has been promoted to to the team from Class-A Tampa. Additionally, catcher Jeff Farnham has been activated from the team's disabled list and OF Rob Segedin has been placed on the Temporary Inactive List.

Garcia, who signed with the Yankees as a free agent on May 2nd, batted .238 with 1 HR and 15 RBI in 28 games in Tampa in his first action in the United States. His first hit was a home run July 3rd vs. Dunedin. He defected from Cuba in 2011 and played last winter in the Venezuelan League.

Segedin did not make the trip with the team to Bowie for the weekend series in order to attend to a family matter. Farnham had been on the DL from July 12 through August 2nd and missed 22 games.
