
Three Fireworks Shows Highlight Second-To-Last Curve Homestand

CURVE, Pa. - The second-to-last homestand of the 2012 regular season hits Curve, Pa. starting Monday and running through Sunday, August 12 as the Curve play host to the Bowie Baysox and Trenton Thunder. The weeklong stay features three fireworks shows, a Curve trash can giveaway, and the hilarious antics of Myron Noodleman.
The homestand begins on Monday as the Curve welcome the Baysox, Double-A affiliates of the Baltimore Orioles, to town for a four-game set. Monday's 7 p.m. opener comes complete with post-game Fireworks. Plus, on a Mirror Monday Curve fans able to get $3 grandstand tickets with a money-saving coupon from the front page of that day's sports page in the Altoona Mirror.
The Curve's second-to-last Two-for-Tuesday presented by Atlantic Broadband comes complete with two-for-one tickets, hot dogs, and small popcorns throughout the night. Senior Night at the Ballpark presented by Senior Life is also on tap for the second contest against Bowie on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
After Wednesday's 7 p.m. affair between the Curve and Baysox, it's the second edition of Fireworks for the homestand, this time presented by Bellwood/Hollidaysburg/Philipsburg Hometown Markets. The third game of the series also comes on a Four-Pack Wednesday presented by WALY 103.9 where Curve fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas all for $35. In addition, it's a Silver Steamers Club Day presented by Homewood at Martinsburg and the second-to-last Galliker's Dairy Kids Club Day.
The Curve wrap up their four-game tilt with the Baysox with Thursday's 7 p.m. finale. Thursday night is the third installment of the Curve's 2012 Summer Cruise Series presented by Nittany Travel, this time paying tribute to the Tom Cruise classic Jerry Maguire with a Curve Kwan Two-Sided Poster giveaway presented by Yuengling to the first 500 fans ages 21 and over. It's also a Thirsty Thursday presented by ROCKY 104.9 with $2 Yuengling 16 oz. drafts and $1.50 regular sodas available during the game. It's also UPMC Health Plan Member night at the ballpark with members able to bring their postcard good for two free tickets in the UPMC Health Plan Home Run Junction left field bleachers to the box office.
To kick off the weekend, the Curve welcome the Thunder to town on a Freebie Friday with a Curve Trash Can giveaway presented by Sanitary Maintenance to the first 1,000 fans through the gates for the 7 p.m. opener. Friday is also followed by a T.G.I. Friday's Mug Club Night with the first 250 fans ages 21 and over to leave the ballpark receiving T.G.I. Friday's mugs to head over to the ballpark and hang out with two Curve players an hour after the game.
The legendary Myron Noodleman will entertain Curve fans with his trademark brand of nerdy fun on a Curve, Pa. Blue Out Saturday at the ballpark for a 7 p.m. middle game with the Thunder. Saturday also marks another Scout Night in Curve, Pa.
The homestand concludes with a 6 p.m. series finale on Sunday to be followed by traditional Sunday Night Fireworks presented by Ramada Altoona. As always, kids will be able to run the bases after each of the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night contests.
