Waterloo Bucks News Release

Waterloo, IA - The Northwoods League has their 2013 Postseason All-Star Team and award winners. Waterloo Bucks' field manager Travis Kiewiet was named the Manager of the Year, while coach Pat Casey was honored as the Coach of the Year. In addition, Adam Dian, Aaron Rhodes, and Chesny Young were all named to the NWL Postseason All-Star Team.

Bucks' second-year field manager Travis Kiewiet is the 2013 Manager of the Year after leading Waterloo to the NWL's best record, currently at 51-18. Under Kiewiet's guidance, the Bucks set a new NWL record for wins in a season with 51, passing a mark set by the Rochester Honkers in 2006.

Coach Pat Casey was named the league's Coach of the Year. Casey, who is in his second year with Waterloo, comes from a baseball family. His grandfather, the late Bob Casey, was the Hall of Fame public address announcer of the Minnesota Twins from 1961-2005. His father, Mike, served as a professional scout for the Twins from 1980-1987.

Right-handed pitcher Adam Dian was named to the NWL's Postseason All-Star Team. The Temple University product owns a 2-0 record with a 0.35 ERA. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dian leads the team in saves with six and has struck out 48 batters in 26 innings pitched. Dian is currently ranked fifth in the NWL's Relief Pitcher Point Standings.

Pitcher Aaron Rhodes was also named to the All-Star team after a stellar season. A native of Venice, Florida, Rhodes owns the second-most strikeouts in the NWL with 74 and has the fifth-best ERA in the league with a 3.19 mark. The University of Florida product has a 5-4 record in 11 appearances and is holding opponents to a .226 average.

Third baseman Chesny Young joins Dian and Rhodes on the NWL's Postseason All-Star Team. The Mercer University product leads the league in both on-base percentage and walks, with a .474 mark and 60, respectively. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Young is tied for the league-lead in runs with 61 and is tied for third in the league for triples with three. Young is hitting .327 with 42 RBI and 12 stolen bases.

In other news, the Bucks learned their opponent for the playoffs.
