Wisconsin Rapids, WI- The Northwoods League announced its 2013 postseason All-Star Team Sunday morning and the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (31-38, 12-22) placed three players on this season's postseason team.

Jackson Slaid (Montevallo) led the way this year for the Rafters, breaking the club's single-season home run record with 13 home runs hit. While Slaid has impressed throughout the Northwoods League, he has almost single handedly helped rewrite the Rafters single season record book, claiming new team records in home runs (13), doubles (17), RBIs (59) and is on-pace to break the team record for highest batting average (currently at .332).

Donnie Dewees (North Florida) was the second Rafter named to this season's post-season All-Star team as the Osprey from Crystal River, Florida finished his season with a .321 batting average, 75 hits, 86 extra base hits and 123 total bases, while tying a team record with 26 stolen bases on the season. Dewees, who was also named a first-half All-Star, claimed Rafters single-season records for most runs scored (54) and stolen bases (26). Dewees also finished in the top five amongst Northwoods League leaders in home runs, clubbing 12 on the season in just 57 games, and stolen bases.

JP Feyereisen (UW-Stevens Point) was the third Rafter selected to the postseason All-Star team by pitching to a tune of 11 saves and posting an overall ERA of 1.16 in 22 games this season. Feyereisen, who was also named a first-half All-Star, finished the season in the top five in the league in overall ERA (1.16) and saves (11). The 11 saves by Feyereisen also set a Rafters single-season record for saves in a season. Feyereisen, who will be a junior next spring, held opponents to an overall team batting average against of .165, while yielding way to just four earned runs throughout the season.

News and Notes

Brad Stroik (UW-Stevens Point) currently leads the Northwoods League in overall innings pitched, twirling 77.1 innings this season. Stroik, who is slated to start tonight's final home game, needs to toss just 2.1 innings in today's finale against the Battle Creek Bombers (28-41, 14-21) to claim the Rafters single-season record for most innings thrown in a season. That record is currently held by Brad Douthit (USC), who threw 79.1 innings during the 2011 season. Stroik, in 13 starts this season, has yielded way to just 72 base hits, not giving up more than five hits in his last five starts, while holding teams to just 37 runs this season.

Third-year manager, Jake Martin, set the single-season record for most wins in a half with a 19-16 record in the first half of the 2013 season, while also leading the club to its best overall record of 31-38 with just one-game to play. The 2013 Rafters, who finished the month of June with a 15-4 record, set the club record with most All-Stars in a single half (5), while finishing just three games back of the first half crown.

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters will conclude their 2013 season today when they host the Battle Creek Bombers for a 5:05 p.m. first pitch. Fans can listen to today's broadcast by tuning into 1320 AM WFHR.
