NYCFC Head Coach Ronny Deila:

On the three points...

"Today I'm very proud of the team. We can talk as much as we want about chances or saves...but if you're going to be a good team you need to be organized, and you need to be working as a unit and be very safe defensively. Today the boys worked their asses off. They were fantastic in the pressure...I'm unbelievably proud of the boys today. It's a tough situation when you don't win games, and to stay together, stick together and be a unit, the victory is very, very important."

On limiting mistakes...

"To play at 9 o'clock in the morning, it's really, really tough. It's not about who plays good, it's about those who don't do mistakes. That's what we did today, we didn't do any mistakes. We didn't give them anything."

On waiting for results and the mindset of the team...

"First of all, we're going to enjoy the victory. That's important and then we're going to train and develop ourselves. We want to get another chance, so hopefully we can do it, but it's not in our hands anymore. We gave ourselves an opportunity that it can happen with winning today. We're going to prepare for playing one more game down here, hopefully more than one."

New York City FC Forward Ismael Tajouri-Shradi:

On the win...

"It was a very important game for us. We went for it from the beginning. We were much better than the other games. This was a must win for us. We tried our best, it is not easy in this heat to play, so respect to the team who fight today really well to get the three points."

On how this win impacts the team's mentality...

"Mentally this wasn't easy because we lost the first two games. Everyone was disappointed becasue of the results [before]. Everyone was ready mentally and physically...I think we saw today a better NYCFC. For us it was to just get the points and to see. If we go through, we'll be ready. If we go home, we have no other choice. For us it was a good game and good win."

New York City FC Midfielder Keaton Parks:

On how style of play is developing...

"We're still getting used to Ronny's playing style. We had a long preseason and we came out decent in those first two games, especially in the Champions League. Four months off, it was hard and a lot of time away from each other and trying to adapt to a new style is not easy with a big break like that. We're still getting used to it, learning as a team how Ronny wants us to play and he's still learning about us as players and what our strengths and weaknesses are."

On waiting to see other results to see if team will advance...

"We're just going to be back at the hotel now and we'll keep training every day. We're going to stay ready just in case we go through [to the Round of 16]. Our mindset is the same...we're ready [for the knockouts] and we're going to keep training and keep being intense out on the field and we'll be ready whether we're going home or playing in the [knockouts]."
