
Nominees Announced for Dragons Players of the Month for April

DAYTON, OHIO-The Dayton Dragons have announced their nominees for the team's Batter and Pitcher of the Month awards for April. Fans can go to www.daytondragons.com to vote for the players whom they who they feel are most deserving of the award based on the month.
Each month, three hitters and three pitchers will be selected as nominees based on their performances on the field. The winning players will be honored on Thursday, May 9th, during an inning break of the Dragons game. There will also be a Player of the Month luncheon on Friday, May 10th at Subway, 3024 Far Hills Ave, at 12:00 noon. Fans may attend to ask questions to the winning players and receive autographs. The players will be available to the media for interviews.
Below are the nominees for April (all statistics for the month of April only):
Hitter of the Month Nominees:
- Jeff Gelalich (outfielder): Batting .271 with four doubles, one triple, eight runs batted in, 13 runs scored, and eight stolen bases, with a slugging percentage of .341 and an on-base percentage of .327.
- Brent Peterson (second baseman): Batting .295 with three doubles, three runs batted in, five runs scored, and three stolen bases, with a slugging percentage of .364 and an on-base percentage of .340.
- Jesse Winker (outfielder): Batting .284 with seven doubles, one triple, two home run, 12 runs batted in, and 11 runs scored, with a slugging percentage of .469 and an on-base percentage of .383.
Pitcher of the Month Nominees:
- Jesus Adames: Record of 1-0 with a 1.80 earned run average in six relief appearances. Has walked three and struck out 11 while allowing 15 hits in 15 innings.
- Drew Cisco: Record of 2-1 with a 3.00 earned run average in five starts. Has walked one and struck out 30 in 33 innings. Leads the league in innings pitched and fewest walks per nine innings. Ranks second in the league in strikeouts. Has allowed 27 hits.
- Sal Romano: Record of 2-2 with a 1.64 ERA in five starts. Has walked eight and struck out 15 in 22 innings. Has allowed 21 hits.
