LANSING, Mich. - The Lansing Lugnuts' (8-17) bullpen allowed eight runs over the final three innings of the game, allowing the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (10-14) to come back from a six-run deficit to win, 10-8, in 10 innings on Friday night at Cooley Law School Stadium.
Trailing 8-3 heading into the ninth inning, Wisconsin sent all nine hitters to the plate, rattling off five runs against Lugnuts relievers Tucker Donahue and Chuck Ghysels (Loss, 0-1). Run-scoring hits from Adam Giacalone, Parker Berberet, Chris McFarland and Mike Garza brought the Rattlers to within 8-7 before a sacrifice fly by Alfredo Rodriguez tied the game at 8-8.
Wisconsin took its first and only lead in the top of the 10th inning against Ghysels. With runners on the corners, Jose Sermo roped a triple down into the right field corner, scoring a pair and giving the Rattlers the 10-8 lead.
Taylor Wall set the Lugnuts down 1-2-3 in the 10th inning, earning his second save of the season, and securing the series win for Wisconsin.
