Texas Legends News Release
Frisco, TX (January 7, 2011) - The Texas Legends announced today that their overtime win over the Rio Grande Valley Viper on December 27th will be part of NBA TV's Games of the Week and re-aired on NBA TV tomorrow afternoon.
The afternoon of D-League coverage on the network will begin at 11:30 p.m. CT with NBA D-League Central, an all-inclusive show covering every aspect of the league and highlighting the past weeks games and highlights.
Immediately following the show, the Legends game will be re-aired beginning at 12:00 p.m. CT on NBA TV.
In the overtime victory the Legends were down 101-97 with just 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter, when Joe Alexander hit a fall-away jumper to cut the deficit to two. Then, on the ensuing inbound pass from Garrett Temple, Booker Woodfox jumped in the passing lane, got the seal and ran down court for an easy lay-up tying the game at 101.
With a chance to win the game, a Mustafa Shakur three-pointer at the buzzer rimmed out, sending the Legends to their first overtime period in franchise history.
Texas would score their first three points in overtime all off free throws, before Woodfox came up big again, nailing a three-ball and clinching the victory for the Legends.
Relive all the excitement from the Legends huge OT win tomorrow afternoon at 12:00 p.m. CT on NBA TV.
The networks D-League coverage will conclude with the January 2nd game between the Reno Bighorns and the Idaho Stampede.
