Let's Get Familiar: These two teams will play each other eight times over the next 12 days. The Sounds and Redbirds will meet in Memphis for a four-game series May 12-15. The last two American Southern Division Championships have been decided with Nashville and Memphis playing each other. The Sounds clinched the 2016 title with a win in Memphis, and the Redbirds clinched last year's title with a win in Nashville.
Everybody Pitching In: The series features two of the three top pitching teams in the Pacific Coast League. Memphis is second in the league with a 3.19 ERA and Nashville is third with a 3.81 ERA. The Redbirds have the fourth-most strikeouts (246) and the Sounds have allowed the fewest home runs (10).
The Breakout: Nashville's offense broke out in a big way in last night's suspended game in Colorado Springs. The 14 runs scored matched a season-high (April 14 vs. Omaha) and the 18 hits collected was a season-high.
#HipHipJorge: Shortstop Jorge Mateo put together one of the best games of his young career last night. Mateo matched a career-high with four hits and he had the second multi-homer game of his career. The last four-hit game by Mateo was September 1, 2017 vs. San Antonio and his only other two-homer game was September 4, 2017 at Frisco.
I Got Five On It: Outfielder Anthony Garcia collected a team-high 5 RBI in last night's suspended game. He's the first Sounds player to have 5 RBI in a game since Chris Carter on August 15, 2017 at Memphis. Garcia belted a pair of home runs - the sixth multi-homer game in his career.
