Muñoz Shines in Debut But Bólidos Fall 3-1 on Saturday

Bowling Green, Kentucky- Osleivis Basabe went 2-4 with an RBI, but los Bólidos de Bowling Green (33-22) fell 3-1 to las Llamas de Hickory (33-23) on Saturday night. BG and Hickory finish off the series on Sunday, June 12.

Hickory started off the scoring with a solo homer off of Logan Workman in the first, but Bowling Green quickly responded in the home half. Llamas starter Owen White walked Ronny Simon with one out and Simon advanced to second on a groundout. Basabe smacked the first pitch he saw into right field to drive Simon home to tie the game up at 1-1. A two-run homer in the fourth gave Hickory the lead again at 3-1. Neither team scored over the next five innings and las Llamas ended up with a 3-1 win.

Workman (1-2) took the loss in 5.0 innings of work, allowing three runs on five hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Victor Muñoz made his Bowling Green debut with 4.0 shutout innings, walked one batter and struck out three.

Notes: Workman's seven punch outs were the most he's thrown with Bowling Green... Muñoz became the second BG reliever who threw 4.0 or more innings out of the bullpen for this season... Basabe had all of Bowling Green's hits for his 14th multi-hit game of the season... He leads the team in multi-hit games... Saturday was also Basabe's 10th game with two hits... The Hot Rods and Crawdads finish off their series on Sunday, with first pitch set for 1:05 PM CT... Hot Rods RH Logan Workman (1-1, 1.90) faces off against Crawdads RH Mason Englert (2-1, 3.65)...
