CHARLESTON, SC - First baseman Luke Murton knocked a walkoff RBI single in the bottom of the ninth, as the Charleston RiverDogs outlasted the West Virginia Power, 3-2, in South Atlantic League action Tuesday night in front of 2,577 fans at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

Charleston notches its second walkoff win of the homestand to improve to 3-3, while the Power drops to 2-4.

With the game-winning run in Ray Kruml waiting at third, Murton crushed a single down the left-field line off Melkin Laureano (0-1) for the victory. Kruml pinch-ran for DeAngelo Mack, who walked with one out in the frame, then took third on Zoilo Almonte's single to right to setup the winning hit.

Charleston jumped out to an early lead on Mack's two-run shot over the right field wall in the bottom of the first for a 2-0 lead off starter Hunter Strickland. The RiverDogs would get no more against the 6'5" right-hander who gave up just four hits in 6.0 innings and retired 11 straight at one point.

West Virginia plated its first run in the fifth against RiverDogs starter Shaeffer Hall on Bengie Gonzalez's RBI single. Southpaw Hall lasted 5.2 innings in the no-decision, giving up only five hits and one earned run while sinking five.

The Power tied the game at 2-2 with two outs in the ninth off closer Ryan Flannery on a double by Gonzalez and a RBI single by Jarek Cunningham, who increased his hitting streak to six games.

Mack had the only multi-hit game for Charleston, while Gonzalez, Jesus Brito and Adenson Chourio registered two hits each for West Virginia.

Game 3 of this four-game series is set for a special 11:05 a.m. first pitch on Wednesday, with former Clemson Tiger Graham Stoneburner (0-1, 6.23 ERA) toeing the rubber for Charleston while southpaw Nathan Baker (0-1, 4.50 ERA) takes the mound for West Virginia.
