Mudbugs Announce First Round Playoff Schedule

BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the Central Hockey League today announced the schedule for their Opening Round playoff series against the Arizona Sundogs, which begins next Friday at the CenturyTel Center. Last night's results locked both teams into their respective seeds to set up the first-ever playoff matchup between Bossier-Shreveport and Arizona.
When the Mudbugs defeated Odessa 3-2 last night at home, they clinched the #2 seed in the Berry Conference and guaranteed themselves home-ice advantage through at least the first two rounds of the 2011 CHL playoffs. Later on last night in the Pacific Time zone, Arizona's shootout loss to Rapid City locked the Sundogs into a seventh-place Berry Conference finish to set the matchup in stone.
Bossier-Shreveport and Arizona will begin the best-of-five series with Games 1 and 2 at the CenturyTel Center next Friday and Saturday, April 1 and 2, at 7:05 pm. The series will then shift to the Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona for Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday, April 5 and Wednesday, April 6 before returning to Bossier City for a potential Game 5 on Saturday, April 9.

After the Mudbugs complete their 66-game regular season with one final road game against Odessa tonight, they will face the Sundogs for the first time this year in Game 1 of the playoff series. The last time the two teams played was December 1, 2009, when the ¬ËBugs skated to a 6-0 win over the Dogs at the CTC. Bossier-Shreveport has not been to Arizona since visiting the Sundogs for a back-to-back set in February 2009.

If you have already purchased your playoff package, tickets are also available for pickup throughout the week at the Mudbugs office.
