Louisville, KY - Despites four home runs, the Toledo Mud Hens overcame two deficits and scored three runs in the 11th inning to defeat the Louisville Bats 13-12 in front of a crowd of 8,525 tonight. The Bats now drop two games behind the Mud Hens for first place in the IL West Division.

Louisville emphatically jumped to a 7-2 lead with an offensive explosion that produced six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Bats lead was short lived as Toledo immediately responded and regained the lead with a six run inning of their own in the top of the fifth. The Mud Hens crushed two home runs and scored all of their runs with no outs. Mike Hessman blasted his league-leading 22nd homer of the season, cutting the lead to 7-6. Two batters the Hens regained the lead on a two-run home run by Matt Joyce.

In the sixth frame Alvin Colina connected on a solo shot, which cleared the Dean's Milk Home Run Terrace, evening the score at eight. The Bats then reclaimed the lead at 9-8 as Jolbert Cabrera lined a solo shot to left.

Colina would add another solo shot in the eighth to make the score 10-8, but Bats' closer couldn't maintain the lead.

In the ninth, Freddy Guzman cut the Bats' margin to one run, when he lined an opposite field single to left on a 0-2 pitch. Former Bat Dane Sardinha then tied the game with a line-drive single to left field, scoring Erick Almonte.

In the 11th the Hens received RBI singles from Mike Hessman, Timo Perez, and Derek Wathan, giving them a 13-10 lead.
