Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

Wappingers Falls, NY (7/13/14 )- The Batavia Muckdogs scored runs in the 7th and 8th innings to defeat the Hudson Valley Renegades 4-3 at Dutchess Stadium. The loss snaps a 10 game Hudson Valley winning streak at Dutchess Stadium.

The Renegades got on the scoreboard first. Coty Blanchard started the rally with a walk, and then moved to third on a Jace Conrad single. Casey Gillaspie would then walk to load the bases. Hunter Lockwood walked forcing in Blanchard to score as Hudson Valley took a 1-0 lead.

After Batavia took a 2-1 lead in the third inning, Hudson Valley stormed back in the bottom of the frame with back to back round trippers from Casey Gillaspie and Hunter Lockwood. Lockwood's home run was his league leading tenth to regain the lead 3-2.

Gillaspie finished the day two for three with a home run and a walk while the red hot Lockwood stayed hot going one for three with a home run and two RBIs.

Hudson Valley starter Hunter Wood threw the first six innings for Hudson Valley allowing only two runs and striking out six. He would pick up a no decision on the day.

Batavia knotted the score in the 7th inning as Kevin Grove tripled to lead off the inning. He would then score on a double play to tie the game. The Muckdog's then scored the go ahead run in the 8th inning as Carlos Duran singled in Mason Davis who doubled earlier in the inning off Renegades reliever Edgar Gomez. That would be all the visitors needed on the day as the Renegades went quietly in the 8th and 9th innings. The loss was only the Renegades 3rd loss at the "Dutch" this season.

Notes: Come back to Dutchess Stadium tomorrow morning for Fish Out Water Day here at the stadium. The Renegades host the Batavia Muckdogs in the final game of the home stand. Hudson Valley will send Enderson Franco to the mound, while the Muckdogs counter with Jorgan Cavanerio. First pitch is set for 11:05 AM .
