Moseley Optioned to Salt Lake, Thomas Released

SALT LAKE CITY (May 27, 2008) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that Dustin Moseley has completed his rehab assignment with the Salt Lake Bees but will remain in Salt Lake as the Angels have optioned the right-handed pitcher to the triple-A squad. The Salt Lake Bees have also announced that the club has released catcher Derrick Thomas.

Moseley, 26, was placed on the disabled list with tightness in his right forearm on May 4 and has made three rehab appearances since, two with the Bees and one with single-A Rancho Cucamonga. He owns a 0-2 record with a 9.72 ERA with Salt Lake this season. In seven games for the Angels in 2008, he is 1-3 with a 7.85 ERA. Moseley joined the Angels in a trade from the Cincinnati Reds on December 14, 2004.

Thomas, 25, made one plate appearance for the Bees this season after being recalled from extended spring training. The Orem, Utah native played in six games for the Orem Owlz in 2007, hitting .571 with two RBI.
