Kendrick Joins Bees for Rehab Assignment

SALT LAKE CITY (May 27, 2008) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that infielder Howie Kendrick will begin a rehab assignment with the Salt Lake Bees in the team's home game tonight against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at 6:35 p.m.

Kendrick, 24, was placed on the disabled list on April 14 with a strained left hamstring. Prior to joining the Bees, Kendrick made two rehab appearances with single-A Rancho Cucamonga. In two games for the Quakes, he hit .833 with two home runs and one stolen base.

In 10 games with the Angels this season, Kendrick hit .500 with five doubles, one triple, four RBI and two stolen bases. The Jacksonville, Fla. native was originally selected by the Angels in the 10th round of the 2002 draft.
