More Delays for the Honkers; Doubleheader Pushed Back in Canada
June 3, 2014 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Rochester Honkers News Release
(Rochester, Minn.)- Bad weather delayed the start of the Honkers-Border Cats two nine-inning games on Tuesday. Instead, the Honkers and Border Cats will play two seven-inning games in Thunder Bay today, beginning at 4:30 p.m. CDT, with the second game following 30 minutes after the last out in the first. The teams were going to play a day/night doubleheader in Thunder Bay on Tuesday after being rained out on Monday, but the rain soaked Port Arthur Stadium was still deemed unplayable early Tuesday morning ahead of the original 10:05 a.m. CDT start time.
Blake Quinn will start the first game for the Honkers - his debut for the team after getting into Rochester last week from Fresno State University. Nick Gruener (Harvard), the May 29 NWL Pitcher of the Night, will start the second game for the Honkers, picking up where he left off in Eau Claire last week.
After Tuesday's game in Thunder Bay, the Honkers will be on the move again, this time to Mankato, for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch on Wednesday. Mankato will visit Mayo Field the following day, Thursday, for the second game of the series, again at 7:05 p.m., in Rochester. For ticket information, please visit rochesterhonkers.com.
