Mallards Wrap up Four Game Road Trip Tonight in Kenosha

Kenosha, Wis. - The Madison Mallards (4-3) will play the Kenosha Kingfish (4-3) tonight in the second game of a two game series at Simmons Field in Kenosha, Wisconsin. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm.

The Mallards beat the Kingfish last night 17-5, highlighted by an eight run eighth inning. Standing out for the Mallards offensively was Michael Handel (Minnesota) and Alex Bacon (North Florida). Handel went 4-for-5, scoring four of the Mallards 17 runs, while Bacon finished with four hits in five appearances at the plate, scoring three times and chipping in three RBI. Bacon was named the Northwoods League Offensive Player of the Night for his performance.

Tonight, Mallards pitcher Sterling Sharp (Eastern Michigan) will take the mound against the Kingfish. The 6'4", 175-pound righty started last Wednesday in a 5-6 loss against the Kalamazoo Growlers, lasting 1.2 innings and giving up six runs on three hits. He will go up against Kingfisher starter Connor Kelly. Kelly is 1-0 on the year after pitching five innings against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters last Wednesday, giving up two runs on two hits and striking out four.

The Mallards return to the "Duck Pond" tomorrow to face the Kenosha Kingfish at 7:05 pm. Tomorrow night is MINI of Madison Yoga Night featuring former WWE superstar Diamond Dallas Page and post-game yoga in the outfield.
