Montreal Assigns Andreas Engqvist to Hamilton

MONTREAL, QC - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that centre Andreas Engqvist has assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs from Montreal.

Engqvist, 23, played in his first two NHL games with Montreal this past week after being recalled on January 19th. The native of Stockholm, Sweden has played in 38 games with the Bulldogs this season recording 14 points (six goals, eight assists) while serving 10 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-4 centre played with Djurgarden of the Swedish Elite League from 2005-2006 to 2009-2010, recording 58 points (29 goals, 29 assists) and 74 penalty minutes in 181 games. Engqvist also amassed four points (one goal, three assists) in nine games in the 2010 World Hockey Championship in Germany. Engqvist was signed as a free agent by the Canadiens on July 13, 2009.

The Bulldogs return to Copps Coliseum to host the Manitoba Moose in their first ever School Day Game on Wednesday, January 26th at 10:30 a.m. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
