
Canucks Re-Assign Shirokov & Recall Lee Sweatt

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, today announced they have re-assigned forward Sergei Shirokov to the Manitoba Moose. The Canucks have also recalled defenceman Lee Sweatt.
Shirokov, 24, played in two games with Vancouver after being recalled on Jan. 17/11. The native of Moscow, Russia scored his first career NHL goal on Jan. 18/11 @ Colorado. With the Moose this season, Shirokov has appeared in 39 games and is currently the team leader in points (33), goals (16), and is tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (3). With a goal and an assist in his last game as a Moose on Jan. 15/11 vs. Milwaukee, Shirokov established a new franchise record with a point in 12 consecutive games which is the longest current points streak in the AHL and is tied for the second longest points streak in the league this season. He has collected 15 points (10g, 5a) in those 12 games. Shirokov was recently named to his second consecutive AHL All-Star Classic.
Sweatt, 25, has appeared in all 41 games so far for the Moose and has scored 14 points (5g, 9a) and collected 18 penalty minutes. He is currently the team leader in shots on net with 117 and is a team-high +15. The Elburn, IL native has now played in 52 career AHL games with Manitoba and San Antonio where he has 15 points (5g, 10a) and 26 penalty minutes.
