Elliott and Michael Schumacher scored for the Monsters, who collect a point in the standings for the fifth time in the last six games. In the third period, Stefan Elliott tied the game for the Monsters on a wrist shot from the top of the right circle at the 7:37 mark. Elliott's ninth goal of the season made the score 2-2, and was assisted by Garrett Meurs and Mitchell Heard.

The game was tied 2-2 after regulation, and overtime did not yield a winner. In the shootout portion, the Bulldogs outscored the Monsters 2-1. Colin Smith scored in the shootout to improve to 8-11 in shootouts on the campaign, while Gabriel Dumont and Patrick Holland scored in the shootout for the Bulldogs to secure the win.

Pickard stopped 29 of 31 shots in the game and three of five shootout attempts; he is 13-14-4 on the season. Hamilton goalie Robert Mayer is 6-12-2 after stopping 30 of 32 shots and four of five Monsters shooters.
