Purple Game and Star Wars Night Set for Next Week's Three-Game Slate

Wednesday, March 5, 2014 vs. Chicago Wolves

Time : 7 p.m. at Van Andel Arena (doors open at 6 p.m.).

Amway Winning Wednesday : Every time the Griffins win at home on Wednesday, each fan in attendance receives a free ticket to the next Wednesday game. To redeem a Winning Wednesday ticket, please visit the box office following the Winning Wednesday game, The Zone during normal business hours, or the Van Andel Arena box office prior to the next Wednesday game beginning at 5:30 p.m. Fans can also enjoy a buy-one, get-one-free deal on a 16 oz. Pepsi all night long at any concession stand that sells fountain drinks, and the first 300 fans to visit the Amway table in Section A will receive a gift.

Pepsi Reading Goals : Children with Griff's Reading Goals bookmarks who have completed the three hours of reading can redeem their bookmark for two free upper level tickets to either this game or the April 2 or 4 games.

The Final "Wednesday is Hockey Night" of the Season : Show your Griffins ticket at 16 Arena District restaurants and bars -- including Peppino's Sports Grille, home of the Griffins' Wednesday post-game parties with the players -- to enjoy Happy Hour specials before the game and Hockey Night specials afterward. Library Nights : For every Sunday and Wednesday game, fans can present their Grand Rapids Public Library card or Kent District Library card at the Van Andel Arena box office on the night of the game or at The Zone anytime during the store's regular business hours to save $7 off the price of a Lower Level Faceoff ticket (regularly $18 in advance and $20 day of game). Limit four tickets per card per person, subject to availability.

Friday, March 7, 2014 vs. Iowa Wild

Purple Community Game : Nearly everything at Van Andel Arena will be in sync with the color associated with cancer survivors, as the Griffins host their third annual "Purple Community Game" to benefit the Van Andel Institute. Fans are encouraged to wear purple to the game and can enjoy many purple elements, ranging from purple concession items to purple-themed songs and graphics during the game. They can also become a member of "Purple Community," a group dedicated to connecting individuals who are passionate about fighting cancer and other diseases. Free purple gear is available for fans who register to become a member of "Purple Community," as well as a "Purple Community" photo booth located on the concourse for all fans.

Purple Jersey Auction : The Griffins will wear special purple accented jerseys during the game that will be autographed and auctioned off to the public after the game, with proceeds benefiting VAI.

$2 Beers, $2 Hot Dogs and Purple Concessions : Fans can enjoy $2 hot dogs and $2 domestic drafts from 6-8 p.m., while supplies last. Purple beer will be available at select locations, including the D-ZONE, along with purple cotton candy, slushies, donuts and other assorted desserts.

Free Ride Friday on the Rapid : Ride the Rapid to and from any Friday game and enjoy complimentary fare by showing your ticket to the game. Visit ridetherapid.org for schedule information, routes and maps.

H&R Block College Night : College students can show their ID to purchase an upper bowl ticket for $13 (or $11 in advance at The Zone) and stop by the McFadden's concourse table to receive a free pass to the post-game party at McFadden's.

Star Wars Night : The 501st Legion returns for another Star Wars Night, with proceeds benefiting the Griffins Youth Foundation. Over 50 costumed characters will be roaming the arena and interacting with fans. In addition to light sabers and Griffins Star Wars-themed pucks and t-shirts being sold on the concourse, a photo area will be set up on the concourse for fans to get their picture taken with their favorite characters for a small donation.

Post-Game Autographs : Three players will sign autographs following the game from the team's bench, presented by Huntington Bank.

Advance ticket prices are $14, $16 and $18 in the arena's upper level, and $18, $22, $26 and $32 in the lower level. (Additional $2 per ticket on day of game.) On game night, tickets may be purchased without a convenience charge at the Van Andel Arena box office, beginning 90 minutes before game time. Fans who attend multiple games can avoid charges and receive a discount from the single-game price by purchasing a 10- or 20-game partial season package.
