Monarchs Sign Huxley to Tryout

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have signed defenseman Chris Huxley to a professional tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced on Saturday.

Huxley, 26, registered one goal and five assists for six points and 30 penalty minutes in 27 games with the Monarchs during the 2012-13 season. The 5-foot-11, 202-pound native of Weymouth, Massachusetts also recorded 25 points (4-2125) and 31 penalty minutes in 41 games for the ECHL's Ontario Reign last season.

The defenseman appeared in 69 games for the Reign during his rookie campaign, registering six goals and 29 assists for 35 points and 109 penalty minutes for the 2011-12 season. Huxley recorded 42 points (7-3542) in 119 games over four seasons (2007-2011) with the Harvard University Crimson.

The Monarchs host the Providence Bruins at 7:00 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday November 2.
