Barons Take Down Wolves 4-2

OKLAHOMA CITY --- The Chicago Wolves could not keep the momentum from the previous night's win as they fell to the Oklahoma City Barons 4-2 Saturday night at the Cox Convention Center.
Chicago (4-6-0-1) got goals from Ty Rattie and Pat Cannone, but allowed three goals in the third period and never held the lead. Goaltender Jake Allen (4-3-1), coming off a shutout on Friday, denied the Barons on 29 of 33 shots.
Matthew Ford got the Barons (5-6-0-1) on the scoreboard first with a power-play goal. With less than a minute left in the opening period, Barons defenseman Martin Marincin released a shot from the point. Ford redirected the shot just over Allen's shoulder and under the crossbar to put Oklahoma City up 1-0 heading into the intermission.
Rattie struck back with a power-play score for the Wolves at 10:34 of the second period. Taylor Chorney kept an icing attempt in the offensive zone and released a shot from the point. The puck deflected in front of the net to Rattie on the doorstep, where he beat Barons netminder Olivier Roy for his third goal in two games. Roy (2-2-0) made 31 saves.
The Barons took the lead and added insurance early in the third period, with former Wolves defenseman Brad Hunt and Derek Nesbitt tallying in the first four minutes. The Wolves rallied with a power-play goal from Cannone, but Oklahoma City's win was sealed 15 seconds later when Linus Omark scored on a penalty shot.
Chicago travels to Charlotte Thursday for a 6 p.m. faceoff against the Checkers. The team returns to Allstate Arena on Saturday, Nov. 16, for a 7 p.m. matchup against division rival Grand Rapids. For tickets, call 1-800-THE-WOLVES or visit ChicagoWolves.com.
