Manchester Monarchs News Release
LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled forwards Tyler Toffoli and Linden Vey from the Ontario Reign of the ECHL, and have placed forward Jeff Carter on the injured reserve list (retroactive to October 30) due to a lower body injury, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
Toffoli, 22, has played in 10 games for the Monarchs this season, and the 6-foot-1, 196-pound native of Scarborough, Ontario, leads the Monarchs with seven goals and 12 points. Toffoli's seven goals also are tied for sixth best in the League while his 12 points are tied for eighth overall.
Last year, Toffoli made his NHL debut and appeared in 10 regular season games (2-35) and 12 playoff contests (2-46) with the Kings. He was originally selected by the Kings in the second round (47th overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Vey, 22, has also played for the Monarchs this season. The 6-foot, 189-pound native of Wakaw, Saskatchewan, has recorded 11 points (3-811) which are tied for third on the club. Additionally, Vey is ranked third in assists (eight) for the Monarchs. Originally selected by the Kings in the fourth round (96th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Vey has not played in the NHL.
Toffoli and Vey were assigned by the Monarchs to the Reign on Friday. Toffoli wears No. 73 and Vey wears No. 57 for the Kings.
Carter, 28, has played in 14 games for the Kings this season and has nine points (5-49) and six penalty minutes. His five goals co-lead the team along with Justin Williams.
Earlier today, defenseman Keaton Ellerby was claimed off waivers by the Winnipeg Jets.
The Monarchs and Bruins hold a rematch with the Bruins at 7:00 p.m. during Canadian Heritage Night at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday, November 2.
