Monarchs Return Werner To Reading

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have assigned defenseman Eric Werner to the ECHL's Reading Royals, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Werner, 22, has played in 15 games with the Monarchs since his recall on December 26 and has recorded seven points (all assists) and 10 penalty minutes. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound native of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, has also appeared in 24 games with the Royals this season, collecting 12 points (4-8=12) and 12 penalty minutes. Werner agreed to a one-year contract with the Monarchs on September 1, 2005.

The Monarchs will host the Toronto Marlies for the first time in franchise history on Friday, January 27. Face-off is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The first 5,000 fans to Friday's game will receive a Monarchs T-shirt courtesy of St. Mary's Bank.
