Adirondack Phantoms News Release

PHILADELPHIA - It was announced today that the Philadelphia Flyers have reassigned defensemen Freddy Meyer and Alexandre Picard to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms. Both players are expected to be in uniform Friday night when the Phantoms host the Manitoba Moose at 7:05 pm at the Wachovia Spectrum.

Meyer returns to the Phantoms after spending the last seven weeks with the Flyers. He was called up on Dec. 6 for that night's game against Calgary and went on to appear in the big club's next 25 games. Meyer has collected four goals and six assists for 10 points over that time (25: 4-6-10).

Picard made his NHL debut on Monday vs. Pittsburgh and also appeared in Wednesday's game against Montreal. He went without a point in the two games while averaging just over nine minutes of ice time.

The Phantoms play host to the Manitoba Moose tomorrow (Friday) night on Patrick Sharp Bobblehead Night at the Wachovia Spectrum. The first 4,000 kids 14 and under will receive the figurine of Sharp in his #9 Phantoms jersey courtesy of PECO Energy. Also, U.S. gymnast Chellsie Memmel, the reigning all-around women's world champion, will be signing autographs at the game.
