Falcons Recall Boutin From Chiefs

Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced today that they have recalled goaltender Jonathan Boutin from their ECHL affiliate, the Johnstown Chiefs. Boutin is expected to join the Falcons in Portland for their game Friday night against the Pirates.

Boutin has played in 19 games for the Chiefs this season posting a record of 8-9-2-0 on the season with a 2.93 goals against average and .920 save percentage. Boutin, who is in his first season of professional hockey, leads all Johnstown goaltenders in wins, goals against average and save percentage. Boutin recently participated in the ECHL All-Star Game stopping eight of 10 shots on goal in 20 minutes of action on Wednesday, January 25.

In two games with the Falcons this year, Boutin has posted a 1.93 goals against average with a .945 save percentage. On November 5 in Hershey, Boutin recorded 50 saves against the Bears, the second highest amount of stops in a single game by a Falcons goaltender. Boutin was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the third round (96th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

The Falcons return to action on Friday, January 27 when they travel to Portland to take on the Pirates at 7:05 PM. All games can be heard live on the Falcons Hockey Network, WMAS AM 1450, as "The Voice" of the Falcons John Michael handles the play-by-play duties.
